There are a lot of days when we film in bad weather - days so hot your eyeballs feel like they're frying, days so cold your hands might fall off, and rain pouring so hard you could almost drown on set. Each month we'll remember one of those horrible weather days and celebrate the survivors who braved the elements in order to film. Why would we want to remember those days? Because going through hell on set has a way of bringing everyone closer together when they can say they survived mother nature AND filming on a Yibble set.
The Devilish Sun
The Devil & Kitta Gray is a short film in the Twisted Tales series that was filmed in a single day. However, that day was at the end of June in central Illinois, so it was pretty darn toasty outside.
So of course, on a hot and humid summer morning, what else would I do but throw a few actors in layered black suits and make them stand in direct sunlight for several hours. What did you expect, air conditioning? It's me! No cold hair for you! Unless it's winter, then no hot air for you, but you can have as much of the cold air as you want in November.
I'd say more, but I'm just going to defer to this video from the Twisted Tales DVD which pretty much explains it all:
To those who survived the devilish sun on the set of Kitta Gray, I thank you and salute you:
Kevin Meyer
Tanino Minneci
Brittany Ann Whalen
Rachel Zoralee
Please drink plenty of water and don't sue me for heat prostration.
