Bloopers 101 - Lines

Wow, been a long time.  Sorry about that.

Instead of Characters 101 to end the month, I'm going to be posting a short bloopers video with eleven bloopers from a common theme. We'll start with the most common type - general line bloopers.  Here are ten of my favorites:

I'm too lazy to add the credits at the end of the video, so here they are:

Eidolon - How to Save the World

This is the original outline for Eidolon.  As you can see it's not that great and that's why we didn't film this version.  That and I couldn't even write the first script!  I only made it four pages in. Each episode was called a “step”, so the first episode was “Step 1”.

How to Save the World

Step 1 – Get It Together, People!

An introduction to all of the characters and setting up the main plot.
Zelda gets cursed thanks to Mordecai, Maria has a magical encounter with a lens flare in a lake, and Atropos and Baste appear to inform them all (plus Skyler) that the world is going to end, so they have to save it.  They get a magic compass and hunt down the first of the seven demon lords - James Ford. Obviously Zelda and Mordecai hate each other, Maria and Mordecai get “reacquainted”, and we all meet Skyler, who has no idea why he’s there.

Step 2 – Learn How to Get Along

They hunt down the second demon lord, Namtaru, the God of Nightmares, who in turn is hunting down Zelda and trying to get to her through her dreams.  Zelda joins his side after he promises to remove her curse.   When Namtaru tries to kill Maria, Zelda betrays him because Maria is the only one who has ever been nice to her.  Namtaru is about to tell Zelda the truth about Maria, but before he can Maria destroys him. Somehow that wakes up the original Maria inside of new Maria (see Dream Chasers, i.e. Confusomatic.)

Step 3 – Don’t Ignore the Details

Maria discovers she is pregnant (what?!?). Mordecai gets all overprotective, which weirds out everyone, and Skyler gets ignored. They meet Athena (from Dream Chasers) and think that she is the third demon lord, but the real demon is someone we’ve never met who specializes in seduction and seduces Skyler.  He joins her side and nearly kills both Zelda and Mordecai (who often made fun of him) but at the last minute Maria convinces him not to kill them and the others apologize.

Step 4 – Know That Your Parents Aren’t Always Right

They hunt down the fourth demon lord and find out it's actually Mordecai's father.  Mordecai can't fight him because he's afraid of him, but in the end he does manage to destroy his father in order to protect the others.

Step 5 – Find Out the Truth, Even If It Hurts

Mordecai is a mess after killing his father and the gang takes a well deserved break.  However, the fifth demon lord comes after them.  He’s an insane, paranoid, serial killer who doesn’t have a body, preferring to stay in ghost form, and he possesses  Mordecai.  Skyler is the first to figure out that Mordecai hasn’t just gone insane from grief and guilt, but is possessed by the fifth demon.  Things get messy at this point.  Multiple people are possessed, multiple people are severely injured, Skyler almost dies, Zelda remembers her past life as Zoey which turns her against Maria, and the heroes split up.

Step 6 – Dream a Little Dream, Then Wake Up

Morpheus and Athena try to get the group back together by overlapping their dreams and forcing them to talk things out.  This is when the sixth demon lord – Labarta – seizes her chance for revenge against Mordecai and turns their dreams into a nightmare.  She manages to stab Mordecai and he dies before they all wake up. It ends with his funeral.

Step 7 – Make Sure Check Your Sources

Mordecai wakes up in the Dream World staring into the Pit of Lost Souls (which appears in the Curse).  Atropos and Baste appear beside him and spend half the episode convincing him that everything is Maria’s fault, that she’s actually pregnant with the anti-christ (wtf?!?), and if he kills Maria they will resurrect him from the dead. Meanwhile, the others find out that Atropos is actually being possessed by Ahriman, one of the most powerful demons in the world, Baste is actually being possessed by Athena’s soul (again, see Dream Chasers), and Bastes soul is actually inside Athena – which is why Athena has been helping them.  They also discover that the whole “end of the world” thing was
a lie – a set up to get them to kill off Ahriman’s competition, and everything they’ve done to try and save the world has actually brought disaster to it. Oops.

Step 8 – If You’ve Made a Mistake, Now’s the Time to Fix It

This last episode starts with a major clusterfuck that is figured out by the end.  It would take too long to explain so I won’t, and it would be more confusing, not less.  It ends with some of the Spirit Sorcerers dying and being replaced with the heroes.  Mordecai becomes the God of Dreams, Zelda becomes the Goddess of Nightmares, and (bizarrely) Skyler puts in a bid to become the God of Evil (again wtf?!?).  Maria gives birth to a healthy baby girl (who has the soul of the original Maria from Dream Chasers) and Maria and Mordecai get married.  Happy and confusing endings to all.
